Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
L. Huffman Studios was established in 1991 and Memory Pendants was founded in 2002. The owner of L. Huffman Studios, Linda Huffman, has been an Internationally acclaimed artist since 1964 with many awards and honors including a three time recipient of the "Woman of the Year" award along with several Marquis "Who's Who" awards.
What is your primary product or service?
Unique hand made cremation jewelry, lock of hair or ash keepsakes, glass cremation worry stones and hanging memorials to commemorate the loss of a loved one, special friend or cherished pet. We handle both retail and wholesale accounts.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Lifetime experience in fine arts (oil painting) and cartooning led to an interest in warm glass (glass fusing) and, because of the unexpected loss of a cherished and much loved pet, resulted in the development of a glass memorial to commemorate her memory and short life on earth. Within a short period of time we were contacted by friends and bereaved families that also experienced losses of either a cherished pet or a loved family member for memorials to help in their remembrance and overcoming the grief that is always associated with this type of loss.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
There are no businesses in our area that do what we do and there are very few artists or companies in the United States that provide the type and quality of memorials created by L. Huffman Studios. The materials used are made in the USA and the very best we can locate, which creates a high quality memorial that, with proper care, will last a lifetime, plus we have established a policy that assures the families we serve the very best customer service and individual attention they deserve and expect. We take a genuine interest in each family we work with and will never compromise that commitment.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Since most of our business is through the Internet, we probably will not expand to other locations, however that does not mean that we will not expand our business through other outlets or other sources.
Provide detailed directions to your location
We are an established Everett based business with no retail sales showroom. All of our business is handled from our studios located in the Lowell neighborhood or in one of our established showroom locations. We suggest that if you wish to see our memorial products that you contact us by phone (425-252-2742) to set up an appointment.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards including American Express. We also accept Diners Club, JCB, Union Pay and B C Credit cards along with PayPal and, of course, cash and checks. If necessary, we can also arrange a payment plan to help with the larger purchases.
Which areas do you service?
Due to the Internet, our range is International; however, we are still a local business and can work within our local area just as easily.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Linda Huffman is the artist and founder of L. Huffman Studios. Chuck Huffman, Linda's husband, handles all of the day to day operations.
What are your hours of operation?
Because of the Internet we are operational 24/7 through our website (www.memorypendants.com). We can be reached between the hours of 9am to 6pm Monday through Friday by telephone (425-252-2742). For inquiries or for an appointment contact us anytime by email at info@memorypendants.com.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
That's a hard one. We have received so many compliments since the founding of Memory Pendants that it would really be hard to pick the best one since they all mean so very much to us. I might suggest that you go to http://www.memorypendants.huffmanstudios.com/customer_comments.htm and see what the families we serve have written about us.
